About the City of Toronto

  1. Toronto welcomes over 40 million visitors annually; in 2017 there were 43.7 million tourists who visited Toronto.  It has over 8,000 restaurants and bars.
  2. In June the average temperature in Toronto is 24 degrees celsius.
  3. More that 30% of Toronto residents speak a language other than English and French. You can find dual-language street sign in such areas as Little Italy, Chinatown and Little Portugal.
  4. Caribana is the largest single-day parade in North America with over one million spectators from all over the world.  
  5. Toronto is considered to be one of the most multicultural cities in the world.
  6. The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is an annual event in September and attended by many movie stars. 
  7. The Toronto PATH is the largest underground pedestrian system in North America connecting 1,200 stores and restaurants, 50 office towers and 20 parking garages, five subway stations and a railway terminal and 28 kiliometers in length. Each letter in PATH is a different colour representing different directions (P-Red; pointing south; A-Orange pointing West; T-Blue pointing North; H-Yellow pointing East).
  8. Toronto's transit system is the largest in North America with a ridership of 2.7 million. In 2017, the TTC was name the best pubic transit agency in North America.
