Coping After a Mass Shooting

The United States have had two mass shootings in the past two weeks, and Canada as well as the world cannot escape the news of such tragic and traumatic events.

Here are some resources for coping with events of trauma. 

1. The American Psychological Association suggests ways of helping children manage distress in the aftermath of a shooting.  Read the Article
2. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration provides tips for parents, caregivers and teacher to help children and youth.  Read the Article

Inner Strengths

We all have challenges and struggles that we face such as health, stress, illness, family, work, and to cope with them we need resources.  However, the resources do no need to be external, but within ourselves (inner strengths).  For example, courage, confidence, self compassion, wisdom, etc.  Read this article to learn more about the inner strengths that lie within yourselves.
